About Us


 

Hollywood Hills Elementary Parent Teacher Association (HHE PTA) is a volunteer organization made up the parents, teachers, our principal and other school staff.  The PTA provides financial and organizational support for academic instruction, supplemental programs, activities, enrichment, supplies and services that directly benefit our children. We also provide direct support to the school, school grounds, buildings, classrooms and our teachers.
 
There are many opportunities for parents to be directly involved in their children's education. These opportunities are through volunteer services, donations, supplementing our programs, participation on any level, as well as parent education both at our school and through the supplemental programs. Last year alone we had over 6600+ hours of volunteer services. Being involved always positively affects our children.  The PTA is here to help, support and to inform you about the wonderful programs, activities and enrichment that our school embraces!

The PTA Executive Board has some new faces this year and they bring with them some new ideas and a lot of energy. The Executive Board has been hard at work planning PTA events for the upcoming school year (2009-2010). You can find a list of planned events in the Parent Welcome Packet that is available to anyone joining the school for the first time, and details will be posted in our newsletter and on our website as well.

If you would like to be involved, we need your support and involvement and would like to extend our invitation to participate. With the continued support of parents like you, and an ever-dedicated school administration lead by our Principal, Mrs. Roberts, we know that we will achieve even greater successes on behalf of our children this coming year. Helping with the PTA not only benefits the children, but it's a great way to meet the teachers, administrators, and of course the other parents and families that make up our community.
  • Generally, the Executive Board hosts to an open meeting once a month.
  • These meetings are open to all PTA members AND anyone else who would like to attend.
  • Notices with the date and time of the next meeting will go home with the students every month.
  • This information can also be found in the monthly Panther Beat school newsletter in addition to this website. We hope you will consider joining the PTA this year.
  • Remember that PTA membership is renewable each year, so we need the support of all returning parents as well as new ones.
  • As an official member, you'll also be able to participate and vote as we make major decisions throughout the year.

Even if you do not join our PTA, please know that you are still welcome to participate in any and all of the activities we sponsor and fund.  As they say at the National PTA Conference each year, "When PTA gets involved, children benefit. When you get involved, the child who benefits most is your own."  Help us make a difference again this year.
