Cultural Arts Program

Here's an overview of the programs from last year.
September: Didgeridoo Down Under, "Digeri" Darren Liebmann. This is a high-energy, Australia-themed variety show that combines social studies, music, art, storytelling dance, environmental education and audience participation. A first at HHE!

In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Bailes Ferrer Flamenco Dance Company will be back by popular demand. This award-winning troupe has earned international acclaim and we welcome them back to HHE

The Fantasy Theater Factory entertain the kids with their show "The Three Messketeers!" Water conservation, reforestation and air pollution are only a few of the environmental issues addressed in this rollicking adventure. Through hilarious characters, physical comedy and audience participation this adventure educates as it entertains. In the end, The Messketeers and the audience discover that when it comes to the environment it is really "All for one and one for all!"

Our very own Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra, which has been in existence for over 28 years! A brass quintet, made up of members of the orchestra, performed for our children right before the Winter break.

Kuniko: Magic, Mime and Music from Japan - Hailing from Osaka, Japan, Kuniko Yamamoto returned to HHE with a command performance showcasing her wonderful talents combining mime, storytelling, origami demonstration and Japanese flute playing. With a resume including performances at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Kuniko is overjoyed to be returning to HHE. Arigato (thank you), Kuniko!

Stay tuned for more new and exciting Cultural Arts programs next year! And remember, these wonderful programs would not be possible if it weren't for HHE PTA.

Please contact us with your thoughts and suggestions. We are looking forward to a great year at HHE. Thank you! - Lisa Kennedy and Sandi Stevens Co-Chairs.
